A flight training course for pilots holding an IR(A)/SEP-L rating for the assignment of an instrument rating to an IR(A)/MEP-L multi-engine aeroplane.

 

Requirements for applicants to commence flight training:

Minimum age – 18 years.

 

Possession of a valid PPL(A) or CPL(A) with an instrument rating in IR(A)/SEP-L single-engine aeroplanes and an MEP-L multi-engine training rating.

Class 1 medical certificate /certificate must be issued by a European specialist medical centre/.

Copy of diploma /secondary or higher/.

 

The training includes a flight programme of 2 hours of flight time in a multi-engine aircraft and 3 hours in an FNTP 2.

Pilot training programme for the IRI(A) instrument rating

The aim of the course is to train candidates to a professional level corresponding to the requirements of the IRI(A) instrument rating.

Requirements for commencement of training:

The applicant for an IRI(A) certificate must meet the following prerequisites:

1. at least 800 hours of flight time under IFR conditions, of which at least 400 hours shall be in aeroplanes.

2. in the case of an application for an IRI(A) in multi-engine aeroplanes, comply with the requirements of FCL.915.CRI(a) of 500 hours of flight time as a pilot on aeroplanes and 30 hours as PIC on the appropriate class or type of aeroplane.

3. In the case of applicants holding an FI(A) certificate, these hours shall be reduced to 200 hours of instrument flight time.

Upon successful completion of the flight programme, the applicant shall be given a flight test by an examiner appointed by the DG CAA.

The applicant shall be provided with – the flight training syllabus with the development of each exercise.

Upon successful completion of the flight training programme, the applicant shall be given a flight test by an examiner appointed by the DG CAA. During the test, the trainee shall demonstrate confident IFR flight performance to an international airport.

The MEP-L/IR rating endorsement shall be renewed by flight test annually by an examining instructor. If not renewed on time, the applicant should undergo a recovery programme and a flight check .

Upon completion of the last 6th Module of the Professional Pilot Training, ATO Air City prepares the trainee’s documents to be submitted to DG CAA for obtaining a CPL(A) with IR, MEP-L, MEP-L/IR rating endorsements. To these documents the applicant must attach an English language certificate (minimum Level 4) issued by an approved organisation.
