MEP (land)
A pilot training programme for the acquisition of a single-pilot multiengine class rating.
Requirements for applicants to commence flight training:
Minimum age – 18 years.
Possession of a valid PPL(A) or CPL(A).
Not less than 70 hours flight time as PIC.
Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate (certificate must be issued by a European specialist medical centre).
Copy of diploma (secondary or higher)
The programme includes:
Theoretical training to familiarise with the Diamond Piper Seneca 2 aircraft type. The candidate is provided with the AFM of the aircraft and other materials on electronic media, lecture classes are conducted in the ATO Air Cities training room and in the aircraft.
Theoretical training during 07:00 hours to learn the specifics of multi-engine aircraft flight performance. The candidate is provided with a training programme and lectures are given in the training room.
6 hours of flight training. The applicant shall be provided with the flight training programme with the development of each exercise. Before and after each flight, the instructor conducts a briefing with the candidate on the conduct of the training, the trainee’s success rate, identification of errors and ways to prevent them.
Upon successful completion of the flight programme, the applicant shall be given a flight test in front of a checking instructor appointed by the CAA.
The MEP-L rating endorsement shall be renewed by flight test annually by an examiner. If not renewed on time, the applicant must undergo a recovery programme and flight test hours.
